Thankful??????

Today has been a bit of a bummer, but at least there are still many things to be thankful for. On the way home from running a few last minute errands before we leave for China on Wednesday, we hit a deer on the highway. Or, should I say the deer hit us. As we were driving along (Shawn at the wheel) I saw the first one and hollered for him to watch out. He got us slowed down to miss it and the car next to us very narrowly missed it as well. BUT....where there is one.....yes, another one. I screamed, but it was to late. It hit the front of our car on the side and mostly the drivers side door. That was it for me. I am already stressed to the max and I burst into tears. Shawn pulled the car over and asked me why I was crying...was it the car or the deer I was worried about. It was the deer, of course. He tried and tried to convince me the deer was fine and that it got up and ran off, but I'm still not sure. Then, he tried to get out to assess the damage, but the door was damaged enough that it no longer opens.

So, to add another item to my long "to do" list for Monday, call the insurance company and the body shop and BEG them to get my car in by Tuesday. Then BEG them to let us have someone else pick up the car on our behalf before we get home from China. Then we can just pretend the whole thing never happened.

And on to what I'm thankful for. We weren't hurt......and things could be a LOT worse. Oh yes, and we leave for China Wednesday to get Tyler!!!!!!!!

I am so glad that you guys were not hurt. That is not fun to deal with but it could have been a lot worse. Enjoy your trip to China. We wish you the best of luck and can't wait to meet Tyler when you get home.

Oh no! I am so sorry to hear about the deer. That was the last thing you needed to deal with before your trip. I wish I would have checked your blog earlier...I would have loved to have helped if possible...my family and I have some local Carstar collision centers.

I can't believe you leave tomorrow. I am so excited to hear all about your first meeting with Tyler. Best of luck with your travels!
